ZD USB Switch

4×4 USB matrix switching · For on/off and compatibility testing

The ZD USB Switch is an accessory for USB on/off and compatibility testing. It provides four host-side and four device-side USB ports with sixteen possible connections, and integrates four relay outputs for switching external devices. The host side accepts USB hosts such as ZD Box series devices and ECUs; the device side suits flash drives, smartphones and tablets. USB port connections between host and device can be switched manually or remotely to test connectivity and access.

01Switch freely between 16 connections

Manually or programmatically connect any one of the 16 (4×4) possible USB links.

02Four intelligent relay outputs

Four relays provide both normally-open (NO) and normally-closed (NC) contacts for intelligent switching.

03API and Python SDK included

A supplied API and Python SDK make it easy to integrate into automated test frameworks.

04Real-time status readout

Reads the status of host-side USB, device-side USB, USB power and relay switches in real time.

05Three flexible power sources

Power can come from the USB Type-C port, the host USB bus or a 12 V vehicle supply. Built-in flash stores the configuration, so the previous control state is restored after a restart.

06Protection and compatibility

Built-in reverse-current, overcurrent and ESD protection for USB; on-board LEDs clearly show the operating mode; compatible with Windows and Linux.

Automated USB compatibility testing

AUTOMATIC COMPATIBILITY TESTING

The ZD USB Switch supports automated compatibility testing across up to four USB 2.0/3.0 hosts and four USB 2.0/3.0 devices. Port connection states can be monitored and set manually or automatically, removing the need to repeatedly plug and unplug USB cables and swap devices during development, debugging and testing.

The product provides four relays for intelligent on/off control, for example simulating power-up and power-down or connecting and disconnecting lines.

API / SDK automation integration

API & PYTHON SDK

A supplied API and Python SDK read the status of host-side USB, device-side USB, USB power and relays in real time, making it easy to embed the switch in a CI test pipeline. Built-in flash stores the configuration, so the previous control state is restored after a restart.
