Overseas Testing Services
European Road Testing One-Stop Turnkey Delivery
From vehicle customs clearance, registration, warehousing and transport to on-site road testing and report delivery, ZD Technology provides one-stop overseas testing services across multiple European countries, including overseas cockpit, connectivity, whole-vehicle integration and ADAS testing with desensitized data return.
Service Overview
ZD Technology focuses on overseas testing for Chinese intelligent vehicles and has provided full-process turnkey European road testing services for smart electric models such as NIO Firefly, covering landing capabilities including customs clearance and registration, workshop rental, short-haul transport and temporary warehousing, with service capability spanning multiple sub-brands and product lines. How can a vehicle be driven legally on the road, where do the people come from, and how is data returned in a compliant way - the four core concerns of overseas testing all have mature answers in this service.
Industry Challenges We Solve
The hard part of overseas testing lies outside testing itself: landing, compliance, data and local resources.
Long vehicle export chain
It involves customs clearance, registration, insurance, transport and warehousing in the destination country; lacking local resources and experience directly slows the project down.
High local compliance thresholds
Europe imposes strict licensing, insurance and compliance requirements on prototype vehicles on the road, managed per vehicle and per year, with little room for error.
Environmental differences distort test plans
Local traffic environments, mobile networks, road characteristics and regulations differ significantly; simply replicating a domestic test plan cannot reflect real performance.
Data compliance constraints
Data collection and return must meet local regulations such as GDPR, involving data desensitization and compliant transmission.
Shortage of local personnel
Test engineers and road test drivers with local driving qualifications and equipment operating skills are required.
Services
From test execution to landing compliance, five service categories cover the entire overseas testing chain.
Overseas Test Execution
Overseas cockpit testing, overseas connectivity testing, overseas whole-vehicle integration testing and overseas ADAS testing.
Full-Process Testing Services
Route planning, test plan and test case writing, on-site test execution, problem analysis, regression verification and desensitized data return.
Vehicle Landing and Transport
Destination port customs clearance, registration, short-haul transport, cross-border transport, temporary warehousing and workshop rental.
Compliance and Safety
Test licence application, vehicle / personnel / equipment insurance, GDPR compliance and data desensitization.
Team Setup
Project managers, test engineers and overseas road test drivers (NDC), as well as flexible staffing models such as recruitment and personnel affiliation.
Landing Capabilities in Detail
Licensing, transport, insurance and local teams - all four critical steps have well-established execution paths.
01Test Licensing and Compliance
Once the vehicle information is complete, test information is submitted to TÜV, and after road-suitability verification a Prototype Licence is issued. The licence is valid for one year and must be obtained per vehicle; the vehicle must be insured locally and registered with an EVB electronic insurance confirmation code, and cross-border driving in some countries also requires a Green Card insurance certificate.
02End-to-End Transport
From container pickup, warehousing and CFS to terminal trucking, then export and import customs clearance, truck / RoRo / air transport and shipment booking, right through to final delivery - a single point of contact across the entire value chain from origin to destination.
03Insurance Arrangements
Vehicle insurance is assessed individually for modified vehicles, and the insurance period is tied to the licence period; medical and accident insurance for personnel and equipment insurance are also provided.
04Team and Local Resources
Own workshop and vehicle storage capacity in Germany; road test drivers hold German test driver licences, are proficient in driving prototype electric vehicles and have experience in data collection and remote troubleshooting; test engineers are proficient in tools such as QXDM, CANoe, DLT View and Wireshark.
05Staffing Service Models
Provides recruitment, personnel affiliation and overseas road test driver (NDC) services; the talent pool exceeds 10,000 people, 90% of whom come from the automotive and internet industries.
