ZD SafeLink CAN

Safe 8-channel CAN node switching · Built for in-vehicle functional validation

The ZD SafeLink CAN is used mainly to switch conveniently between the original vehicle CAN nodes and test CAN nodes during in-vehicle functional validation. Working with a rapid prototyping device such as the ZD Virtual Gateway, it can also carry out signal-level intervention, forwarding and adaptation on multiple CAN buses. On-board termination simplifies CAN link configuration, and eight redundant CAN ports let third-party devices monitor and record eight CAN channels.

Key Features

Key Features

01Eight CAN bus interfaces

Meets a wide range of requirements for physically isolating CAN topologies.

02Three control modes

Three control modes: DIP switches, wired control and USB serial.

03LED link status indication

LEDs show link status in real time, so that switching results are immediately clear.

04Configurable on-board termination

Each CAN bus has two built-in termination resistors; DIP switches select 60 Ω or 120 Ω.

05Wide-range vehicle power supply

Supports a wide DC 9 V-24 V vehicle supply for in-vehicle use.

06Mating male/female DB9

Mating male/female DB9 connectors make it easy to restore the original CAN architecture.

Applications

Applications

01
NODE SWITCHING

Fast node switching

FAST NODE SWITCHING

By physically isolating a single CAN node from the bus with the ZD SafeLink CAN, users can switch quickly between different CAN nodes and change the CAN bus architecture easily. SafeLink CAN can connect an original CAN node to the bus (with the rapid prototyping device disconnected), or switch the CAN node to the rapid prototyping device while the original node is disconnected from the bus.

  • Mating connectors: Male/female DB9 mating connectors — restoring the original architecture is just a plug-in
  • Visible LED status: Intercept LEDs show the status of each link in real time

SIGNAL EXTENSION

Signal-level function extension based on existing nodes

SIGNAL-LEVEL EXTENSION

With a rapid prototyping device such as the ZD Virtual Gateway, the ZD SafeLink CAN extends function at signal level from the original nodes — for example, signal-level intervention, forwarding and adaptation across multiple CAN buses.

  • Monitoring and recording: Eight redundant CAN ports let third-party devices monitor and record eight CAN channels

ON-BOARD TERMINATION

Each CAN bus has two built-in termination resistors, and DIP switches select 60 Ω or 120 Ω — no external resistors or soldering needed.

  • Independent DIP configuration: The CAN Termination DIP bank controls all eight channels independently
  • In-vehicle ready: DC 9 V-24 V wide-range supply suits in-vehicle functional validation
