ZD Datalogger 2 Series

The ZD Datalogger 2 Series is specifically designed for automotive heterogeneous bus systems, integrating various bus interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, FlexRay, CAN/CAN FD, LIN, and serial communication. It supports SSD storage from 500GB to 4TB, suitable for various automotive R&D and test applications such as controller development, system integration, and full vehicle endurance testing. This series provides real-time, stable and accurate data logging with time-stamping support. Its automotive-grade design, combined with sleep and wake-up functions, ensures very low power consumption and heat dissipation, making it suitable for high voltage, extreme temperature, and vibration scenarios. Device and data management can be achieved through the included Trace Client software, while ZD also provides a Python SDK compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems for rapid device integration.

Application Scenario

Scenario 1
Vehicle Bus Data Acquisition
During the integration test phase of vehicle development, systems interact and are coordinated via bus signals. Bus signal acquisition and analysis, including timing, error value judgment, and full-cycle lossless acquisition, is a focus at this stage. The ZD Datalogger 2 Series supports 12 CAN/CAN FD channels, 10 LIN buses and 10 Ethernet ports, with network synchronization of two ZD Dataloggers enabling full-vehicle data acquisition and timestamp synchronization. In addition, real-time monitoring of up to 8 CAN bus signals can be achieved using the ZD Box 2i simulation platform and its accompanying VBT software.

Scenario 2
Laboratory Bench Data Acquisition Scheme
In laboratory scenarios, the data acquisition services of the ZD Datalogger 2 Series include bus data and ECU debugging information logs that meet the requirements of vehicle data acquisition, but with higher requirements for managing multiple devices within a local area network. The ZD Datalogger 2 series supports DHCP client and server modes. When used individually, it can be set to DHCP server mode, allowing testers to access data through DHCP client mode. In a lab environment with multiple ZD Datalogger 2 Series devices, they can be set to DHCP client mode, with a single server assigning IP addresses for easy management and access to devices within the LAN.
Scenario 3
Automotive Ethernet Data Acquisition Case Study
The ZD Datalogger 2 series adapts to the star topology of Automotive Ethernet and integrates switching functionality to ensure that point-to-point communication is not affected. It achieves fast and reliable data acquisition using FPGA technology. The ZD Datalogger 2 series also provides two standard Gigabit Ethernet ports for data logging, allowing not only direct connection to the standard Ethernet debugging port of electronic control units (ECUs), but also connection to vehicle Ethernet interfaces via the associated ZD Converter Series products. This flexibility makes it suitable for various application scenarios.
