ZD Datalogger 3 Series

The ZD Datalogger 3 Series is a high-performance data logger designed for whole vehicle data logging in domain control architectures. With PTP accurate time synchronization and 4ns precision time stamps, it ensures high consistency across all channels. With up to 3Gbps of continuous data storage bandwidth, coupled with 2 * 8T of storage space and 24/7 uninterrupted recording capability, it not only guarantees data integrity and continuity, but also adapts to long-term massive data collection requirements. Powerful software features such as customizable data filters, trigger modules, and dynamic port forwarding ensure flexible data storage and meet real-time monitoring requirements. As the first to support 10GBase-T1 vehicle Ethernet and IP camera audio/video acquisition, the ZD Datalogger 3 Series is the ideal tool for whole-vehicle data recording.

Features

Multi-channel, multi-bus protocol high-performance data storage
Supporting up to 24*CAN/CAN FD, 12*LIN, 2*FlexRay, 8*1000Base-T1, 16*100Base-T1, 2*10GBase-T1, 4*1000MBase-T bus recording, while also supporting camera video collection, with a maximum continuous recording bandwidth of 3Gbps.
Comprehensive, supporting Automotive Ethernet data bypass recording
Supporting 10GBase-T1 Automotive Ethernet, 10G/5G/2.5G/1000/100Base-T1 data pass-through and bypass mode, freely configurable master-slave mode, with microsecond Ethernet delay.
Data logging, supporting real-time signal monitoring
Combining filtering functions and dynamic port forwarding, supporting real-time monitoring of data during acquisition.
Time synchronization service
Based on IEEE1588 protocol (PTP), supporting master/slave mode, achieving precise time synchronization with other devices.
Data filtering and triggering functions meet the user's application requirements
Strong data filtering capacity meets the need to clean sensitive data and reduce data processing workload, flexible trigger functions cover various time trigger scenarios.
Remote data logger access
By connecting to ZD Cloud through wired or wireless Internet devices, data can be accessed remotely from different locations.
Flexible data acquisition module expansion
Supporting ASAM CMP protocol, port number expansion can be achieved through ZD DataGrabber Series, keeping data consistent across devices through PTP time synchronization.
Efficient and flexible data transfer

Dual SSD

2.5G management Ethernet port, high-speed downloads for easy data transfer.

USB 3.0 device expansion, such as 4G/5G SIM cards, GNSS Receiver Cards, etc.

Application Scenario

Scenario 1
DTF (Dynamic Tap Function) Simultaneously Meets Recording and Real-Time Analysis Needs
Test vehicles require not only complete data recording, but also real-time analysis or live trace. The point-to-point communication principle of Automotive Ethernet, which is widely used in real vehicles, poses a great challenge to the installation of test equipment in test vehicles.
With the dynamic TAP function of the ZD Datalogger 3 series:
• Any Automotive Ethernet communication (or CAN, LIN, FlexRay bus communication) can be redirected to a specified data logger without affecting the complete recording by the data logger.
• Customers can switch any specified data channel in real time via software.
• The Ethernet interface trace is the original Ethernet packet, allowing customers to use Wireshark, CANoe, or other data analysis tools for real-time data analysis.
• Other bus forwarding to the management Ethernet bus trace is ASAM CMP protocol message, supporting any ASAM CMP compliant client tool.
This helps customers overcome multiple pain points:
• The exclusivity of Ethernet bypass devices makes it difficult for data loggers and simulation boxes to coexist.
• The complexity of vehicle Ethernet wiring makes temporary wiring or rewiring difficult.
• Power issues for multiple test devices in a vehicle.
TraceClient 3
Scenario 2
ReDA (Remote Datalogger Access) Remote access to the datalogger for data sharing across locations
As the development of in-vehicle electrical architectures and ADAS functions becomes more complex, many functions require collaboration and co-development by teams in different locations. How to synchronize the real-time status of in-vehicle function development on a limited number of test vehicles has become a major challenge for remote collaborative development. ZD's data loggers can record all in-vehicle bus data and have established a remote access channel, allowing remote teams to conveniently share raw data on the test vehicle. In addition, the combination of the data logger's custom filter and trigger functions makes this remote data sharing even more efficient.
